Stranded & Twisted Wire

In addition to standard round and flat wire, at California Fine Wire Co. we produce stranded and twisted wire in a number of configurations. Heating elements, thermocouples, and medical instrumentation; including many orthodontic components; all utilize stranded wire products. We can create custom twisted wire products from numerous different alloys and coatings to develop a custom solution for any application. Custom wire can be drawn using any number of alloys such as copper, aluminum, or resistance wire; and coated with ceramic, polymer, or PTFE insulating enamels. Stranded wires are typically produced in 7 strand or 19 strand configurations using wire with a diameter between 25 microns and 2.5 mm.

Wire can be packaged in spools or in cut lengths, depending on customer preference. Our team has been producing precision wire products for over 60 years and can advise customers regarding the ideal material, size, and configuration of wire for the given application. Stranded wire can be manufactured in any volume, from the small quantities needed for research and development to the high volumes needed for full scale OEM production applications. The lead time for a project will be evaluated based on the scope and parameters of the specific job. Inventory can be kept in a kanban bin system that allows us to efficiently provide the needed level of inventory based on the individual customer’s material usage.
