Spooling & Packaging Overview

At California Fine Wire Co. we take as much care in the spooling and packaging of our custom wire as we do in the precision manufacturing of the wire itself. Precision spooling is critical to the ability of the customer to smoothly unwind and feed the wire into the designated equipment. This is especially true in the case of flat wire, where errors in spooling can cause distortion in the wire. Errors during the spooling process can cause excess scrap and the constant need to re-feed the wire, reducing production efficiency.

We can wind wire onto a number of different spool types such as plastic, composite, and metal spools; including bonding and braiding spools, as well as DIN spools on request. For specialized applications, wire can be wound onto special jigs and fixtures that are either built in-house or provided by the customer. Wire can also be cut to length and packaged in tubes or boxes, depending on the diameter, strength, and length of the wire pieces.

We produce custom wire with a diameter between 10 microns and 1 mm in a wide range of metal alloys and with various enamel coatings. Our dedication to customer service is backed by our ISO 9001:2008 certified quality management system and a history in the industry that dates back over 60 years. Custom production is available in a range of production volumes with the lead time for a project evaluated on a job by job basis. Repeat orders can be handled via a kanban inventory management system to ensure that custom wire is readily available as needed.
