Special Handling & Processing Overview

As a producer of premium quality custom wire, at California Fine Wire Co. we are adept at accommodating special handling and processing needs with precision and efficiency. Many customers in the aerospace, medical, defense, and electronics industry use our products in unique applications which require secondary processes not available from standard wire stock suppliers.

Ultrasonic or chemical cleaning can be performed on drawn or rolled wire to remove any potential contaminants for high purity applications. Ultrasonic cleaning is an environmentally friendly cleaning option that utilizes cavitation in order to remove a number of contaminants, such as oils and dirt, from the material without the use of harsh chemicals. Chemical cleaning methods are sometimes required to remove contaminants that cannot be removed by other means. Providing these services in-house allows us to process wire more quickly and at a lower cost than if a secondary vendor was required.

For applications in which the strength of the wire is a primary concern, spools or cut wire can be labeled with the verified tensile strength rating. We offer a number of material testing capabilities, including tensile strength and resistance testing as well as dimensional inspection in-house. All quality testing, along with any other special processing procedures, is performed in accordance with our ISO 9001 certified quality management system. In addition to special handling of the wire itself, wire products can be packaged using non-standard spools, such as customer provided jigs and fixtures, for added convenience.
